Description
Church Farmhouse is a house dating from the 16th century, with later additions and alterations. It is timber framed, standing on a brick and sandstone plinth, and has plastered infilling with plain tiled roofs. The building has an H plan and features a baffle entry. It is three storeys high and consists of three bays, with the centre bay recessed and two slightly projecting jettied cross wings supported by carved decorated brackets. The exterior displays close studding and short tension braces, with concave lozenges and semi-circular decoration on the top floor. There are four-light wooden mullion windows in the gables and above the central 19th-century entrance porch, while the other windows are 19th and 20th-century casements. A prominent central red brick stack with four shafts is also a notable feature.
