Description

This is an early 19th-century house and shop. It is built of painted brick, with the left-hand gable end partly rendered, and has a plain tile roof. The building is two storeys and an attic, topped by a dentil brick eaves cornice. Two gabled dormers, each with a 2-light wooden casement window, are set into the roof. The right-hand end brick stack was rebuilt around 1900.

The front of the building has two windows, with 4 x 3 pane glazing bar sashes on the first floor, each with a slightly segmental head and painted stone sills. There are a pair of early 19th-century shop windows, each set within a flat-roofed square bay with a rendered base and frieze, and a plain cornice. A boarded opening is located beneath the right-hand shop bay. The central doorway has a half-glazed door with two lower flush panels, and a simple doorcase featuring a moulded architrave, cornice band, and an overdoor with a triangular pediment.

The interior was not inspected, but reused chamfered beams were noted. The building appears to have been purpose-built, or rebuilt, as a shop.
