Description

Heath Cottage is an early 19th-century farmhouse located in Ford, with an L-shaped plan. The building is constructed of red brick and features a slate roof. It stands two storeys high and has an integral brick end stack on the left and another behind the ridge on the right. The cottage has three bays, with glazing bar sash windows that have roughly gauged heads; all windows contain 20 panes, except for the central first-floor window, which has 16 panes. The central entrance features a panelled door set within a doorcase that includes reeded pilaster strips and a frieze with oval paterae on brackets supporting a triangular pediment. There is also a small 20th-century brick lean-to addition set back to the left.
