Description
This is a barn and cowhouse built in the early 19th century, located approximately 15 metres north of Pentre Farmhouse. The buildings are arranged in a long range aligned roughly north-south. The barn to the north features a weatherboard timber frame, a rubble plinth, and a slate roof. The cowhouse to the south has a ground floor made of coursed limestone rubble, a weatherboarded timber frame on the first floor, and a slate roof.
On the west front, the barn has three pitching openings and two boarded doors, along with a pair of large central boarded cart doors at the rear. The cowhouse has three boarded hayloft doors on the ground floor, with a doorway to the left and a small window to the right. The right-hand gable end includes a doorway and three narrow vents on the ground floor. This range of buildings is part of a larger early 19th-century farm group situated in the middle of the hamlet.
