Description

A row of three cottages located on Coton Hill in Shrewsbury, dating back to the 17th century with a facade dating to the 18th century. The cottages were originally timber-framed and have since been refronted in brick with plain tiled and Welsh slate roofs. They are arranged as a single-unit cottage on each side of a two-unit central cottage, with a four-window arrangement across the entire front. Number 11 has a six-panelled door protected by a gabled hood and a two-light casement window to the right. A small casement window is also located beneath the eaves. Number 12 features painted brickwork and a central door flanked by more recently inserted windows, with a projecting string course and two gabled dormers in the roof. Number 14 has a doorway to the left, framed by a moulded architrave, and a canted bay window with a dormer above. The lower gable wall of number 14 reveals some of the original timber framing, exhibiting rough square panelling.
