Description
Nos. 37 and 38 on Wyle Cop in Shrewsbury are a row of three shops and dwellings dating from the mid-18th century, with a possible earlier core. The buildings are constructed of brick and feature a plain tiled shallow mansard roof. They rise three storeys and have a four-window range. The left side has an inserted shop front that obscures a blind lower window, while the right side contains two two-pane sash windows. There is an arched entry to a passage on the right, above which is a 12-pane sash window. To the upper left, there is another 12-pane sash window and one blind window space. The two-pane sash windows on the right all have flat-arched gauged brick heads. The building features a part moulded cornice and parapet eaves, with three dormer windows behind that have segmentally-arched heads. An axial stack is present.
