Description
The cow house, pigsties, small shed, and linking wall are located approximately 10 metres to the west of Cronkhill and date from the early 19th century. They are constructed of red brick in monk bond and feature stone hinge blocks, with slate roofs that are hipped over the cow houses. The buildings are single-storey. The cow house is on the left and has four segmental-headed boarded doors, alternating with segmental-headed wooden slatted windows, and a large boarded door in the centre. To the right are four disused pigsties with segmental-headed openings and stone-coped square pens that have boarded gates. There is a small shed adjoining at right angles to the right, which has a boarded door in the gable end. The interior has not been inspected but is likely to contain early 19th-century fittings and fixtures. The southern end of the cow house was rebuilt in the late 20th century. These buildings are part of a complete early and mid-19th-century model farm complex associated with the National Trust, Attingham Park Estate Vernacular Building Survey.
