Description

A farmhouse, likely dating from the 17th century with later additions and alterations. The farmhouse is timber-framed with painted brick infill and machine tile roofs. The original design was a long range of four framed bays, although the left-hand and middle bays were later rebuilt in red brick. A two-gabled, two-storey addition to the rear was added in the mid-19th century. The front elevation has square framing panels, three from cill to wall-plate, with long straight tension braces. The middle and left-hand sections are rebuilt in brick and painted black and white to imitate timber framing. The windows are irregularly placed, featuring two late 19th-century three-light casements with segmental heads on the left and right, along with a small 20th-century larder window on the right. Nail-studded plank and muntin doors, with decorated strap hinges, are present, believed to have been moved from their original position. A tall red brick ridge stack stands immediately to the right of the entrance, and an end stack is located on the left. The interior, which was not inspected, is reported to contain partially exposed timber framing and a rebuilt inglenook fireplace.
