Service extension to Brook House (qv), now private house. C19 rebuild of earlier core. Painted brick and stone rubble, plain-tile roof with serrated fascias and bargeboards. Integral brick gable-end and eaves stacks. Front range and rear wing. EXTERIOR: single-storey and attic. Front range is 2-window range of mullion and transom windows, with keyed flat stone lintels, flanking central doorway. 4-panel entrance door with bolection-moulded panels and fanlight with brick segmental arch, under projecting C19 metal tent canopy on cast-iron columns and brackets. Tiled gable dormer. Left gable-end with C20 attic window under brick segmental arch. Rear wing gable-end with 1/1 sash to attic within projecting architrave, otherwise C20 casements. Applied painted timber-frame on painted brick gable wall. INTERIOR: not inspected. Attached railings and gate enclose the rear garden of Brook House for a length of approximately 10 metres to the north. SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: cast-iron railing posts with 5 round rails. Cross-braced gate frame with 4 round rails and self-catching latch. Circular gate standards with rounded caps. Forms a group with Brook House (qv) against which it abuts to the north and included for group value.
