Description
This barn, located approximately 60 meters north-east of Rorrington Hall, dates from the late 17th century and has seen later additions and alterations. It features a weatherboarded timber frame with uncoursed limestone rubble on the south-west gable end and is topped with a slate roof. The barn has two levels; the south side includes two eaves hatches positioned to the right of center, along with central double doors that are flanked by smaller subsidiary doors. Inside, the framing is visible, showcasing square and rectangular panels with weatherboarded and brick partitions. There is a loft in the second and third bays from the north-east. The roof structure is a double-purlin design with six bays, incorporating a variety of Queen-strut and Queen-post trusses. This barn is included for its group value with Rorrington Hall.
