Description
This is a pedestal tomb with surrounding railings located 5 metres west of the tower of the Church of St Milburga, dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed from sandstone ashlar and features cast-iron railings. The tomb has a plain lid with a beaded edge, which is set on a moulded cornice and topped by a stone cross shaft that is now broken and displaced. The tomb includes recessed panels with a raised oval inscription tablet and raised gadrooned corners, along with Doric columns positioned in the recessed corners. It has a plain plinth with recessed sides. The memorial commemorates Rev William Morgan, who died in 18..., his wife Mary who died in 1837, Rev George Morgan who died in 1867, and Dame Elizabeth Horham, his wife, who died in 1851. The railings feature corner standards with urn finials, spear-head balusters with a moulded top rail, and a plain chamfered ashlar plinth.
