Description

Stead Vallets Farmhouse is a mid-19th century house constructed of brick, with a plain tile roof and brick end stacks. It is three storeys high, with a cellar, and has a three-window front. The windows are cross-windows with chamfered cases, set within segmental arches. Above the cross-windows are mullioned casements, and the eaves are brick modillioned. A central, half-glazed, panelled door, with an overlight incorporating glazing bars under a cambered head, is flanked by cross-windows. A two-storey brick wing extends to the rear, incorporating an outshut with a battened plank door and overlight. Internal features include a 19th century dogleg staircase, exposed ceiling beams to the ground floor on the left-hand side of the house, and to the ground floor of the rear wing.
