Description
This is a memorial to Thomas Evans, located 4 metres south of the south porch of the Church of St James. It dates from the mid-18th century and is made of ashlar stone. The headstone features a double-sided inscribed tablet. The west side has a heart-shaped raised inscribed tablet with decorative foliate borders, while the east side displays a raised tablet with inset quadrant corners and foliate enrichment above. The inscription reads: "A FAITHFUL FRIEND / A FATHER DEAR / A LOVING HUSBAND / RESTETH HERE," commemorating Thomas Evans, who died in 1742.
