Description

Ebnal Hall is a farmhouse dating from around 1700, with later additions and alterations. It is built of red brick on a chamfered rubblestone plinth, featuring rusticated stone angle quoins and a hipped graded slate roof. The building has two storeys and an attic, with stone floor bands and a moulded eaves cornice. The front has seven windows, with early 20th-century cross windows set in 18th-century openings that have gauged heads; the central and upper right openings are now blocked, although the former retains its gauged head. There are three early 20th-century gabled eaves dormers. The central entrance features a plain panelled door. The axial red brick ridge stacks have twin recessed panels on either side, with the left stack rebuilt in the early 20th century slightly in front of the ridge. The rear of the house has two prominent early 20th-century gables.

The attached garden walls date from the mid-18th century and are made of red brick in a mixed bond, with moulded stone coping that has been replaced by concrete on the long sides. The walls ramp down at the corners to the front and form a rectangular enclosure approximately 60 meters by 20 meters attached to the front of the house. The interior of the house was badly damaged by fire in 1907.
