Description

This milestone was erected between 1826 and 1827 on Thomas Telford's Holyhead Road. It is made of limestone, which may have been painted at a later date, and features a slightly recessed cast-iron plate. The inscription on the milestone reads "HOLY / HEAD / 86-M / SALOP / 20M-6F".
