Description

The garden wall surrounding Golding is a structure from the late 17th century and 18th century, with some parts rebuilt in the late 20th century. It is constructed from red brick in monk bond style, featuring red sandstone ashlar dressings. The wall is U-shaped, measuring approximately 100 metres in length and standing about one metre high. It has a rounded stone coping and includes a square end pier to the west topped with a pyramidal stone cap. There are two square gate piers to the north; the eastern pier has a possibly reused 17th-century lozenge-decorated cap and globe finial, while the western pier has an 18th-century cap and ovoid finial. Additionally, there is a small wrought iron gate with a dograil and dogbars.
