Description

Acton Pigott is a farmhouse dating from the mid-18th century with additions made in the early 19th century. It is constructed of red brick with a 2-span slate roof. The original 18th-century farmhouse has a later range to the front and two gabled wings at the rear. The building is two storeys high and features a dentil brick eaves cornice and parapeted gable ends. External brick stacks are present at the front, in the valley, to the left of the rear range, and one is integral to a one-storey wing at the rear. The windows are 16-pane glazing bar sashes, with gauged brick heads and stone cills. A 20th-century porch is recessed on the left. A straight joint in the right-hand return front indicates two phases of building. The interior was not inspected but is likely to be of interest.
