Description
Mawley Town Farmhouse is an early 18th-century farmhouse that has undergone some 20th-century alterations. It is constructed of ashlar and stone rubble, featuring moulded eaves, with some brick used in the rear wings. The roof is covered with plain tiles and has brick coped parapets on the gables of the main range, which also includes three brick integral ridge stacks. The building has a four-bay main range and a parallel range at the rear, which has two projecting gabled wings.
The exterior is two storeys high with an attic and includes single-storey and attic rear wings. The front has a four-window range with 20th-century uPVC casements and a 20th-century door with a top-light, set within generally altered openings, although some plain ashlar lintels remain. There are three restored hipped tiled dormers. On the right side, there is a 20th-century glazed door in a stone segmental arched opening, while the left side features 20th-century casements on both storeys. The rear wings primarily have 20th-century casements in brick segmental arched openings. Notably, the gable end to the left of the rear parallel range retains a timber-framed truss. The interior has not been inspected.
