Description
Netley Lodge is a lodge built in 1826, as indicated by the datestone in the gable. It is constructed of rendered brick and features a plain tile roof with coped stone verges and pyramidal capped angle piers. The building has a small rectangular gabled block with single-storey lean-to ranges flanking the front, designed in the Gothic Revival style. The main block is two storeys high and has toothed eaves cornices. The front displays four cast-iron Gothic casement windows with moulded labels, arranged two on each side of a central entrance. Above the entrance, there is a three-light window. The door features applied intersecting Gothic tracery and, along with the inner windows on either side, is sheltered by a shallow pedimented projecting wooden portico supported by four cast-iron columns. A central rendered rectangular ridge stack with serrated sides and moulded capping is a significant design feature. Netley Lodge is located at the main entrance to Netley Hall.
