Description
The Gatehouse is a house dating to the 17th and 18th centuries. It is located on the north side of Lower Broad Street in Ludlow. The house is constructed of stucco, with a parapet to the roof and a brick stack at the rear. It is three storeys high, featuring a prominent three-light bay window with three tiers, its lights having gothic glazed heads beneath four-centred arches. A machicolated parapet tops the bay, with a small turret to the right. To the left of the bay window is a recessed entrance bay containing a tier of lancet windows with glazing bars above an advanced porch with a castellated parapet. The porch provides access to a six-panel door set within a four-centred arch, with a larger lancet window to the left.
