Description

Palmer's Hospital was founded in 1687 and completely rebuilt in 1889. It features a timber frame and stuccoed brick on a rusticated stone plinth, and it has two storeys. The building occupies three sides of a quadrangle. While it is an attractive structure, there appears to be no remaining original fabric. It is part of a group that includes the Church of St Leonard, the Old Grammar School, No 2 Palmer's Hospital, and Nos 4 to 7 in succession.
