Description

No 3 on Church Street is an early 18th-century building made of painted brick. It has three storeys and features three sash windows with broad frames, each with single glazing bars. The entrance is highlighted by a moulded wood pilaster doorcase topped with a pediment hood, and it includes a radiating fanlight above a six-panel door. There are steps leading up to the door, accompanied by early 19th-century wrought-iron railings along the side stringcourses. The building has two rectangular brick stacks that are flush with the parapet. No 3, along with Nos 1 to 3, forms a cohesive group known as the Northgate Café.
