HODNET CP HAWKSTONE PARK Sundial approximately 15 metres to west of Hawkstone Hall

GV II Sundial. Circa 1900. Grey sandstone ashlar. Large square base with three steps and diagonally-placed carved lions at each corner. Tapered octagonal shaft with carved capital and base with crowns on alternate faces. Reused copper dial plate, signed: "EDMUND CULPEPPER / C fecit 1708", and gnomon.

The sundial is not shown on a photograph (NMR) of the west front of Hawkstone Hall (q.v.) taken c.1870.
