WESTON-UNDER- HAWKSTONE PARK SJ 5629-5729 REDCASTLE C.P. 16/183 Tunnel on drive - to Hawkstone Hall - II Tunnel. 1853-4 for Sir Rowland Hill, fourth baronet of Hawkstone. Short tunnel with round-headed arch carved out of natural sandstone. The drive from Weston to Hawkstone Hall (q.v. under Hodnet C.P.) goes through tunnel,while above it a path links Grotto Hill with the Terrace. C.L. (July 10, 1958) pp.73-4.
