Stables, Garages, Former Granary, And The Coach House Adjoining Longner Hall To West

The stables, garages, former granary, and coach house adjoining Longner Hall to the west date from the early to mid-19th century, with some fragments likely from the early 18th century and some late 20th-century alterations to the house. The buildings are constructed of red brick with stone dressings and have plain tile roofs. The layout is L-shaped, with the stables and former granary aligned east-west, and the house extending to the northwest.

The north front features the garages and former granary on the left, which has three first-floor openings, with the center one containing two arched lights. There is an off-center boarded loft door to the right, topped by a gabled hoist dormer. To the right, there are three pairs of boarded garage doors, a window, and a boarded door with chamfered reveals, along with a pair of large boarded carriageway doors leading to a courtyard behind. The stables on the right exhibit an early Gothic Revival style, with two circular pitching holes for the loft, and a pair of three-light windows with chamfered reveals flanking a central pointed chamfered archway. The right-hand gable end of the stables features a first-floor quatrefoil window and a ground-floor two-light ogee-headed window with Y-tracery.

At the rear of the garage block to the southeast, there is an early 18th-century wall with pilaster strips, a plat band, a moulded stone kneeler at the gable-end parapet, and a wooden cross-window with a gauged brick head. The interior of the stables retains stalls on either side of the central entrance. The coach house has a two-window front with 20th-century four-light wooden casements and a 20th-century gabled brick porch to the right, which includes a segmental-headed boarded door. There is a lower two-storey block adjoining to the right, featuring a first-floor three-light segmental-headed casement, a lean-to in front to the left with a segmental-headed boarded door and a small casement, and a 20th-century conservatory in the lean-to to the right. The buildings are included for their group value.
