Coach House And Stables Approximately 20 Metres East Of Yeaton House

The coach house and stables, located approximately 20 metres east of Yeaton House, date from the late 18th century and have undergone minor later additions and alterations. Constructed of red brick, the building features a slate roof with crow-stepping at the gable ends of the main range and ramped sandstone coping on the front walls. The structure is arranged in a U-shape around a cobbled courtyard, with walls at the front. It is one storey high with an attic and has a dentilled eaves cornice.

The central range, which serves as the coach house, includes a segmental-headed archway at the centre, flanked by opposing double doors and a window on the right side. The left range features alternating segmental-headed doors and stable doors alongside segmental-headed windows, with a gabled eaves hatch in the centre. The right range has a similar arrangement. There are external lateral steps leading to the front gable of the left range and double gates at the centre of the wall.

Inside, the central range has a single-purlin roof supported by three bays, with raking struts connecting the tie beams to the principal rafters and long straight braces marking the bay divisions. This building is included for its group value.
