Description
No. 6 Church Street is a house dating from the 17th century, which was remodeled in the mid-19th century. It has a timber frame with painted brick nogging and a rendered front that is lined to resemble ashlar, likely over brick. The roof is covered with plain tiles and the building has one storey plus an attic. There is a brick ridge stack located to the left.
The front of the house features two windows, which are three-pane sashes that are narrower on the ground floor. These windows have exposed boxes and are chamfered, with tiled cills. There are also a pair of gabled full semi-dormers that have shaped decorative barge boards. To the left, there is a 19th-century four-panelled door that includes a rectangular overlight and a plain bracketed hood. The rear wall is timber framed with small square panels, and there is a one-storey lean-to at the back. The interior has not been inspected.
