Description
The Grove Lodge is a lodge built in 1897, featuring a combination of timber-frame and brick construction. It has a pyramid roof covered with plain tiles that have scalloped bands, and a central brick composite stack with moulded bands, along with a brick stack at the front. The building has a triangular shape and stands two storeys high.
On the exterior, there is a central oriel window with a mullion and transom, supported by scrolled brackets and a carved bressumer, which projects over an open porch that has a panelled door. This is flanked by similar windows above canted bays made of sandstone with mullions and transoms. The rear of the lodge features gables with plain casement windows and an outshut. The interior has not been inspected, but the overall design is noted as unusual and elaborate.
