Description
This listing describes two houses, numbered 2 and 3, located in Newton, Craven Arms. They date from the 17th century and are constructed with a timber frame featuring plaster and brick infill, set on a sandstone rubble plinth. The houses have a plain tile roof and brick stacks at the ends.
The exterior is two storeys high and has a two-window range. The windows are 19th-century two-light casements, with a metal window on the left. Each house has its entrance in the left bay, featuring plank doors beneath simple gabled porches. House number 3 has a 19th-century two-light casement and a 20th-century casement under a simple hood, while house number 2 has a 20th-century two-light casement. There is also a 19th-century painted rubble lean-to with a Welsh slate roof and a two-light casement on the left return side. The right return side is made of rubble with a brick flue. At the rear, there are three gabled dormers with 20th-century casements, and in the centre, a 19th-century two-light casement. The interior has not been inspected.
