Description
The churchyard gates, gate piers, and approximately 3 metres of flanking walls are located about 10 metres to the west of the west tower of the Church of St Andrew in Wroxeter. These structures date from the late 19th century and incorporate some re-used Roman materials. The gates are made of cast iron and are paired with re-used grey sandstone. The flanking walls are constructed from coursed sandstone rubble, which ramps up to the center, and are finished with square end piers made of dressed blocks that feature chamfered plinths. The gate piers include Roman columns with moulded capitals and moulded square bases.
