Description
The farm buildings and carriage arch at Sundorne Castle date from the early 19th century and have undergone some alterations in the 20th century. They are constructed of red brick and feature a tiled roof with verge parapets and two twin-shafted stacks. The buildings have an L-shaped plan that runs north and east, and they are attached to a screen wall and tower to the south.
The structure is single storey with an attic. The east face has a slight break for a central elliptically-arched carriage entry. Above this entry is a steeply-pitched gable with projecting bands of brickwork that suggest a pediment, and an elliptical pitching eye in the tympanum. Flanking the gable are a pair of dormers, each positioned over segmental-headed casements, with two casements on each side and boarded doors in between. These buildings are part of the planned layout at Sundorne Castle, and the tall chimneys, which can be seen from a distance above the crenellated screen wall, enhance the castle-like appearance of the site.
