Cottage, latterly shop, now reverted to domestic use. Early C17, extended late C17 with later additions and alterations. Timber framed with painted brick infill and partial rebuilding, rendered to rear; corrugated iron roof. Original single-cell plan with end baffle entry, extended by one short bay to left in late C17. One storey and gable-lit attic. Framing: vertical posts to front; collar and tie beam end trusses with V-struts from collars. Mid-C19 segmental-headed casements to either side of roughly central segmental-headed boarded door with brown brick ridge stack directly above. C19 brick lean-to attached and projecting from right gable end. Interior. Massive central chimney stack has infilled inglenook fireplace with wooden lintel to right ground-floor room. This has chamfered spine beam and oak winder staircase behind stack. Flat heavy joists to left room. Single-purlin roof in 3 bays with collar and tie beam trusses and short straight windbraces. Left bay (later addition) is shorter and at higher level with low doorway cut through tie beam of original gable end. Wide boarded oak floor boards.
