Description

Linney House is an 18th-century house located in Ludlow. It was formerly known as St Leonard's Cottage. The building is constructed of roughcast over stone rubble and local grey brick, with a hipped roof of Welsh slate. The end stacks are of roughcast brick and buttressed to the left.

The house is symmetrical in design, with three storeys and a cellar, and features a three-window front. The first and second floors have 6/6 sash windows, separated by a storey band. A central half-glazed panelled door is sheltered by a moulded wooden hood supported by fluted pilasters, flanked by 6/6 sash windows.

A 19th-century brick and rubble single-storey wing is attached to the left of the main house. A 20th-century outshut extends from the rear, featuring 2-light casement windows.
