Stable Block Approximately 20 Metres To South East Of Brand Hall

The stable block, located approximately 20 metres southeast of Brand Hall, dates from the early 18th century. It is constructed of red brick with some grey sandstone ashlar dressings and features a hipped plain tile roof. The building has two storeys and includes a brick plinth with a chamfered sandstone top, a central break with a string course at eaves level, and an open triangular-pedimented gable.

At the centre, there is an octagonal wooden cupola with a moulded base, square piers, a moulded cornice, and an ogee lead cap topped with a globe finial and weathervane. The stable block retains a bell and is divided into three bays, each featuring 2-light metal casements with stone cills and gauged brick heads with raised keystones. There is a central blind (or blocked) gauged-brick round archway with a keystone, flanked by small blind windows with stone cills and gauged brick heads. A painted wooden clock is located in the tympanum of the central pedimented gable.

The left-hand end wall has two bays, while the right-hand end wall has one bay. On the rear, there are three ground-floor boarded doors. The stable block is positioned at right angles to the main front of Brand Hall. The interior has not been inspected.
