Description
The Moat Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from around 1840. It is constructed of dressed limestone, with coursed rubble at the rear, and features sandstone ashlar dressings. The building has deep eaves and a low-pitched hipped slate roof, and it stands two storeys high. There is a plinth and brick ridge stacks that are positioned off-centre to the left and right. The facade consists of three bays with glazing bar sashes that have returned hoodmoulds. The central entrance is a half-glazed door with six lights above and four flush panels below, topped by a diamond-glazed rectangular overlight. The porch includes a plinth, cornice, and a blocking course that steps up in the centre, with two steps leading to the entrance. The porch is supported by Tuscan columns in antis and features a round arch with a hoodmould, giving it a somewhat rustic appearance. Additionally, there is a two-bay south-east front with segmental-headed windows.
