Description
Nos. 26 and 28 Cross Street is a public house and shop dating from the late 18th century, with later additions and alterations. The building is constructed of rendered and painted brick and features a slate roof with an end stack on the left and a ridge stack on the right. It has two storeys and an attic, with a three-window front that includes glazing bar sashes. The first-floor right window has a segmental head, and there are three hip-roofed eaves dormers. No. 26, on the right, has a late 20th-century shop front, while No. 28, on the left, features a 19th-century triple-round-arched fixed-light window flanked by doors, with the right-hand door being a six-panel design and rectangular overlights in plain pilastered doorcases.
