Description

This is a late 18th or early 19th century house, now used as a shop. It is believed to incorporate elements of an earlier building, with later additions and alterations. The front is stuccoed over red brick, and has a pyramidal roof covered in concrete tiles, with a prominent rendered stack in the centre of the roof slope. The house is three storeys high, with a moulded eaves cornice. The front has a three-window design. It features glazing bar sashes with 16 panes on the second floor, with some being blind and painted to resemble glazing bars on the right side. The first floor windows are set in 19th-century architraves with projecting keystones, which have been truncated by a 20th-century shop front below. Banded corner pilasters have the letter “H” on oval panels at the top. A full-height red brick range extends at right angles to the rear.
