Description
The balustrade, fountain, and retaining walls to the pools in the Italian Garden, located approximately 70 metres west of Lilleshall Hall, were built around 1900. The structure is made of ashlar and has a square plan measuring approximately 25 by 30 metres, featuring central entrances on the east and west sides. The balustrade includes shaped balusters and square end and intermediate piers topped with urn finials, with eight steps leading down from the east. At the center is an octagonal pool with a fountain featuring a central figure, surrounded by four square pools and footpaths that have inlaid lead designs and patterns.
