Description
This is a 17th-century threshing barn located 80 metres north of Greete Court. The barn features a timber frame that is clad with corrugated metal sheeting and has a plain-tile roof. It consists of five bays aligned east-west.
On the exterior, the wall frames include girding beams and posts, with paired tension braces for each bay. There are 19th-century barn doors on the north side and 20th-century infill framing at the south doorway.
Inside, the barn has a double-tenoned purlin roof with straight braces below the purlin in some bays and a diagonally-set ridge. The inner trusses feature twin vertical struts and collars, with two trusses having inner swept tension braces that connect to cambered sill plates. The east and west end trusses have collars with three vertical struts above and five vertical struts below (seven on the west end), along with 20th-century framing below the tie beam.
