Description
This is a group of three chest tombs located 2 metres east of the chancel of the Church of St Mary, dating from the early 19th century. They are made of ashlar stone.
The northern tomb features a plain lid with plain ends and raised inscribed side panels, along with gadrooned filleted corner sections. The plinth is buried and it commemorates Eleanor, the wife of Edmund Davis, who died in 1816, and Eleanor Palmer, who died in 1840.
The central tomb also has a plain lid, with raised plain sides and ends, and vertically bead moulded corners. Its plinth is buried and it commemorates John, the son of John and Elizabeth Small, who died in 1825.
The southern tomb has a plain lid, raised plain sides and ends, and vertically bead moulded corners, with a buried plinth. It commemorates John Smith, who died in 1831.
