Description
This building is a cowhouse with a hayloft and granary above, located approximately 20 metres north of White House Farmhouse. It dates from the late 17th century, with some alterations made in the 19th century. The structure features a weatherboarded timber frame set on a high coursed limestone rubble base, topped with a plain tile roof from the 19th century. It consists of five framed bays and is one storey high with a loft. The framing is made up of square panels. On the left side, there are two large boarded doors for the cowhouse, alternating with 19th-century horizontal sliding slatted windows. To the right, there is a three-bay open-fronted cartshed with 20th-century concrete block walls. Access to the granary is via 12 stone steps leading up to a boarded door in the right-hand gable end. Inside, the building has tie beam trusses with lower queen struts, and original grain bins are still present in the granary.
