Description

No 48 on High Street is a building mainly constructed of 18th-century stone, with earlier stone rubble visible on the right-hand side, which is likely part of No 49. The building has two storeys and features three windows in moulded wood frames, although the central window is blocked. It has a simple moulded wood doorcase topped with an open pediment and an earlier chimney stack with diagonal brick shafts. The entrance is marked by brick piers with stuccoed acorn heads leading to the pavement. This building is part of a group that includes Nos 40 to 45, the Fox Hotel, and Nos 47 to 49.
