Description
The ice house, located approximately 60 meters southeast of Petton Church, is a disused structure likely dating from the late 18th century or early 19th century. It is built of red brick and is covered by an earth mound. The building features a short segmental-arched tunnel that leads to a partly infilled egg-shaped cavity. Nearby, to the northwest, there is a well-preserved motte, which is a Scheduled Ancient Monument.
