Description

The Gough Memorial is a pedestal tomb located approximately 7 metres to the west of the north porch of the Church of St George. It dates from the early to mid-19th century and is constructed from sandstone ashlar. The memorial features a moulded plinth, free-standing corner balusters, a moulded cornice, and a concave capping that supports an ovoid finial with a central raised band. It commemorates Richard Gough, who died in 1845, as well as Margaret Gough (died 1836), Mary Tilley (died 1833), and Elizabeth Evans.
