Description
Lower Vessons is a farmhouse that was later converted into a house. It likely dates mainly from the mid-18th century but may include parts of an earlier structure, along with later additions and alterations. The building is constructed of red brick and has a plain tile roof. It features a baffle-entry plan and consists of two storeys with a gable-lit attic. The eaves cornice is dentilled, and there are three-light mid-19th century casements with segmental heads on either side of a roughly central entrance. The entrance has a boarded door with decorated iron strap hinges, sheltered by a mid-20th century gabled brick porch. A stack with moulded capping is located behind the ridge. Additionally, there is a lower kitchen range that is positioned at right angles to the rear and was remodelled and extended in the late 20th century.
