Description
Bank Farmhouse is a farmhouse, now a house, dating from the mid- to late 17th century, with later additions and alterations. The structure is timber framed with red brick infill set on a rubblestone plinth, topped with a slate roof. It has one storey and an attic, consisting of two framed bays. The framing features irregular square and rectangular panels, with three and four panels from the cill to the wall-plate, and long straight tension braces. The fenestration is irregular, with three late 20th-century casements located within the framing panels on the left, right, and center, the latter occupying the position of a former doorway. Above, there are two late 20th-century gabled eaves dormers, and a rebuilt brick stack is situated immediately to the left of the former doorway. The entrance is located in a late 20th-century addition that is at right angles to the right side of the farmhouse. Inside, the left-hand ground floor room features two chamfered spine beams.
