Description

The structure is a garden wall and kitchen garden wall with an associated outbuilding, dating from the late 18th century, with some minor later repairs. The outbuilding incorporates parts of a 17th-century building. The wall is attached to the projecting left wing of the west front of Woodhouse. It is made of red brick with a stone coping and steps down five times at the west end. The kitchen garden wall is also constructed of red brick in a random bond, featuring a stone coping and enclosing a rectangular area of approximately 110 by 70 meters, angled on the east side.

The outbuilding is located at the north-east corner of the kitchen garden wall and is made of red brick, using narrow 17th-century bricks on the lower parts of all sides except the front gable. It has a graded slate roof with coped verges on carved stone kneelers and a small integral end stack at the rear gable. The outbuilding is two storeys high with a stepped eaves cornice. There is a 19th-century casement window in an 18th-century segmental-headed opening on the first floor of the front gable, and directly below it is a six-panel door approached by a flight of three steps, which has the remains of a flat bracketed hood. Inside, there is a cellar with a cobbled floor.
