Description
Lady Southampton's Chapel and the adjoining manse are a Methodist chapel and house built in 1830, with some alterations made in the 20th century. The buildings are constructed of brick and feature a hipped slate roof. The chapel, located to the south, has a rectangular plan and is accessed from the south front, which has a cornice with dentilled eaves. On either side of the entrance are semi-circular headed window openings. The entrance is marked by a timber Doric portico with a pediment, and it has 20th-century doors. The manse, situated to the north, also features a dentilled eaves cornice and has three glazing bar sash windows. It includes a central gabled latticed porch with a plain overlight and a six-panelled door. The chapel is associated with the Countess of Huntingdon's Connexion.
