Description

30, The Homend is a 17th-century timber-framed building that was refronted in the 18th century using red brick. It is three storeys high, with an attic and a cellar, and has three windows. The windows are 2-light casements with elliptical heads and keyblocks. The ground floor features a projecting entablature with a moulded cornice enriched with triglyphs and dentils, topped with a pediment over a wide doorway. Flanking the ground floor are canted bays with glazing bars; the bay on the left has a curved soffit, while the bay on the right is cantilevered. A gabled dormer is located centrally. The gable end displays exposed timber framing alongside a section that has been partly rendered. A partially rebuilt 18th-century brick wing extends to the rear. The side gable features exposed timber framing. Nos. 12 to 30 (even) form a group.
