Description
The stables, located about 30 yards northeast of Dewsall Court, were likely built in the late 17th century to early 18th century. They are constructed from sandstone rubble, featuring a timber frame with brick infill, and are topped with a half-hipped Welsh slate roof that slopes to the left. The building has a rectangular five-bay layout and is a single storey high.
The north elevation showcases a deep sandstone plinth due to the sloping ground, with three square openings and two battered buttresses, one of which is made of brick. The upper section on the left is covered with weatherboarding, while the center and right sections have irregular thin framing with brick nogging. A re-used corner post is visible on the right side. The west gable features a central blocked opening and V-struts above the collar.
On the south elevation, there are five boarded openings and four ledged and studded doors. Inside, the stables contain racks and two trusses with triple angle struts, while other trusses have plain collars and ties.
